By updating vital inverters

More than 400 homes across Stockport are set to benefit from vital upgrades to their solar energy systems, keeping them powered by clean, renewable energy for many years to come.

Our very own Three Sixty team is managing the project, with Site Manager, Lynne Shoesmith overseeing delivery on the ground and Customer Liaison Officer Michaela Grant working closely with residents to make all the necessary arrangements.

The installation work is being carried out by our trusted contractors, Solarcrown Commercial, the team aim to complete an ambitious 8 inverter replacements a day.

Why are we replacing the inverters?

The PV inverter is the heart of any solar panel system, converting the electricity generated by rooftop panels (DC) into the electricity we use at home (AC). While solar panels typically last 25 years or more, inverters usually have a shorter lifespan of 10–15 years.

By replacing them now, we’re:

  • Boosting efficiency, so more of the sun’s energy becomes usable power.
  • Preventing failures that could leave systems offline.
  • Adding smarter technology, giving us better monitoring and quicker fault detection.
  • Ensuring compliance with the latest safety and grid standards.
  • And ultimately, maximising savings on energy bills and reducing carbon emissions for our residents.

We know having work done in your home can be disruptive, so we’re incredibly grateful for the patience and cooperation shown by all our residents. Michaela, our Customer Liaison Officer, is on hand to make arrangements directly and ensure the process is smooth and stress-free.

This project is a fantastic example of partnership in action, with Three Sixty, Solarcrown Commercial, and our communities all working together to secure a cleaner, greener future for Stockport.

Thank you to everyone involved for helping keep Stockport’s homes sustainable and future-ready!
